The DISSIDIA Saga Part Four

April 12th, 2011: Mognarok? WTH? I suggested Ragnarok to the little bugger, and he comes back with Mognarok, which turns a foe into a moogle. I wish!

Yuna can equip guns? Oh wait – yeah.

Characters could equip all sorts of weapons – to boos their stats. The weapons that they actually use in battle are fixed. So you could not, say, equip Lightning with Cloud’s Buster Sword.

She has a remarkably elegant presence in battle. So graceful and flowing, her movements.

The end of Laguna’s chapter gives me hope for him yet. After all, that’s all a soldier has, right?

A new item component is Moogle Fur. What the kupo?! What moogle would happily hand over their luscious fur?

Yuna’s chapter is amazing. An instrumental version of “Suteki da Ne?” plays as the overworld theme. Isn’t it wonderful? It is indeed.

Suteki da Ne?” means “Isn’t it wonderful?” in Japanese. It was the love theme of Final Fantasy X.

I could just watch those moogles on the overworld fly all day long. They all have different patterns.

One type of moogle only flies in straight angles.

Yuna’s summons look better here than they did in FFX, especially Shiva.

I just can’t get used to how they pronounce Zi-DAWN’s name.

It annoyed me so much – I always read it as “Zi-dane” as if it rhymed with “rain” . When I learned of the soccer player Zinedine Zidane, I thought it proved my pronunciation correct, but DISSIDIA disproved me. /rant

April 13th, 2011: OMG. Tifa actually has jiggle physics.

She has good moves, and not just THOSE. Get you mind out of the gutter.

April 14th, 2011: The reunion between Yuna, Tidus, and Jecht is beyond epic.

Back in the 12th cycle, Tidus and Jecht were on opposite sides.

April 15th, 2011: A moogle that only sells Pebbles? Suspicious. I bought five.

What does Lightning have against fairy tales?

May 6th, 2011: The Emperyal Paradox stage? WOW.

May 9th, 2011: I played Kuja’s story. He weakened Kefka’s grip on Terra’s mind, and when Terra returned to him begging to be freed, he was incensed. “e and his black thong are going to regret this!”

Wow, they actually acknowledged Kuja’s… particular costume.

Ultimecia and the Emperor came to see what the fuss was about. Apparently, Kefka could not stand criticism and called someone (Kuja?) a “spoony bard”.

Kuja’s voice sounds softer as a Warrior of Cosmos… for all that lasts.

It’s kinda funny to use a level-75 Terra to tackle level one-five manikins, even with nerfed equipment and Summonstones.

For being one of the slowest characters in the game, Exdeath sure is a slippery bugger. Plus, he makes funny sounds when he fights. Like “BU-HU-HA!” A weird laugh.

In no way is it an accident that Tifa’s chapter is the seventh.

Her Blizzaga is lethal and easy to spam on edges and on stages with level footing.

May 10th, 2011: Chapter Eight is the final chapter of the 12th cycle. Lightning is not happy about it.

June 3rd, 2011: Mognet’s idea of “spam” tells you stories!

I can’t believe that Shantotto was the character that I’ve built up the least. Even less than Exdeath, by one level.

Vaan got to Lightning. Hee.

Who one-shot the Emperor as Yuna? I did!

The 12th cycle: Manikins posed a serious threat to the Warriors of Cosmos because if they were defeated by a manikin, they could negate the Warriors’ ability to be revived in the next cycle. The Warrior of Light and Kain defeated most of their own allies in an attempt to prevent them from being killed by the manikins. Lightning joined the remaining warriors (Laguna, Tifa, Vaan, Yuna, and… Kain) in an attempt to seal the portal from whence the manikins came. Lightning and her team sealed the portal, but were unable to be revived when Cosmos’ power was drained trying to fight the mankins while being defended by the Warrior of Light. When the manikins disappeared, a vision of the Warriors that had sacrificed themselves appeared before the Warrior of Light. Lightning smiled at him, before she and the other visions vanished.

Gone, but not forgotten.

The story of the 13th cycle received a different, chapter-based format in 012. You could not choose the order in which to complete the story.

June 11th, 2011: When I started the game, Shantotto called out the title!

When you beat the 12th cycle, a random character would call out the game’s name on the title screen whenever you loaded the game up.

Labyrinth Mode has new stages to play on, several of which will be recognized by a Final Fantasy fan.

The mode is very different from the original Duel Colosseum. Getting prizes is easier.
