April 14, 2013: Grindy-grind. Yawn.
Even the doors in Horologium open with a brutal heaviness.
Horologium? Sounds like someone has a Horo-loogie-um.
WHY ARE ALL OF THE TOUGH ENEMIES WEAK TO WIND ALL OF A SUDDEN
I’m kinda stuck because I don’t have great fusions available to me yet. I need to be able to debuff Zelenin while buffing my party.
April 15, 2013: Eternal Rest is a cool skill that kills sleeping targets.
I wish you could increase your capacity for Sub Apps. Ten slots only is way too restrictive.
There’s a cool-looking demon that looks like a multi-headed cobra!
When you try to use the elevator in Horologium, Skadi destroys it and takes your Cosmic Eggs! She’s weak to fire.
OMG I FOUND MATADOR
He’s nowhere near as problematic in this game as he was in Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne.
April 16, 2013: Horologium Horrors
I got sick of trying to appeal to the demons, so I started picking the nastiest answers during negotiations. Paradoxically, that let me bag Ananta.
Sometimes, even when you go through the whole negotiation song-and-dance, the demon decides that you’re not compatible enough!
Orochi’s basic attack hits all enemies!
Ananta is supposed to have 1,000 snake heads. This game settled for seven.
Black Maria is derived from mysterious black statues that originate in the Middle East, apparently as a counterpart to statues of the Virgin Mary in Christian churches.
The Haunt Vetala sprite looks strangely spiderlike in the face, but not in its portrait…
Demons belonging to a genus that you can’t recruit are a pain.
Vetala carries disease!
A Real Shot in the Dark
Pretty much the only flaw with Black Maria is her low agility.
I wish Dakini had some good physical skills to go with her high strength.
Fafnir looks creepy.
There is a mission where you can make an item from one of his parts if you ask him. You can get a Dragon Ring if you ask for his circuit. I presume you get armor for his scale, and a weapon for his screw…
The Maragidyne spell looks cool. Dakini looks cool, too.
Black Maria can be used to fuse together Susan-o, the highest-level demon I’ve found yet at eighty-five. Another reason why Black Maria is one of the best demons in the game.
April 17, 2013: Just trying to explore B3F of Horologium. Pits and conveyer belts everywhere.
April 18, 2013: Warped
Pales remind me of wacky llamas. Llamas!
I HATE WARP TILES
Jimenez’s class is listed as “Awake”.
He has a buff skill called Left Hand to compliment Zelenin’s Right Hand. Thankfully, it doesn’t heal him, though.
It’s possible to paralyze him.
I did an immense amount of damage to him when he used Chaos Tack, a Gun skill that hits random targets, and it hit Rangda, who reflects Gun-type damage, twice. 1,137 points of damage.
His elemental weaknesses seem to change, just like a certain boss in Nocturne, but I can’t figure out how it changes.
Jimenez was a breeze compared to Zel. I beat him on my second try.
An enemy that mainly uses physical attacks against demons that reflect physical attacks – no contest.
The backdrop was really cool. Hellish, flame-red pillars set against an endless sky and sea…
When Atton beat Jimenez, sad music played. Arthur called to offer understanding and an apology for setting Atton down that path.
I’m lost in the sea of pillars and walkways. The thing is, you need to walk across thin air between the walkways to get to new places. These invisible walkways are unmarked on the map, until you walk across them.
April 20, 2013: Red with Rage
Beyond the area with the invisible walkways lied Horologium B6F, drenched in a hellish red.
I like the sound that you get when you level up.
I only have about 40 percent of all of the demons.
April 21, 2013: WHAT IS TYRANT TZITZMITL AND WHY DOES SHE LOOK PREGNANT EVEN THOUGH SHE HAS NO LOWER BODY AHHHH
Mem Aleph’s power is immense. I’d bet she can use spells of all elements (except curse and expel… one hopes?).
I need stronger demons if I’m going to kill her.
