I drew this to commemorate some of the characters featured in early VGJs.
Bottom row, left to right (foreground): Danette, Izabela, and Gig (Soul Nomad and the World Eaters); Taro and Hanako (Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days); Travis Grady and Alessa Gillespie (Silent Hill Origins)
Middle row: Welch (Star Ocean: The Last Hope); Chris Redfield (Resident Evil 5): Tink (D2: DHD); Amy (Soulcalibur IV)
Top row: Flemeth (Dragon Age); Meracle Chamlotte and Faize Sheifa Baleth (SO: TLH); Raphael Sorel (SCIV)
If the first several VGJs were collected into a book, this would be the cover.
Who were the best characters, statistically speakers, in my game of TLH? I have a formula for determining that in RPGs, which is calculated by ranking the characters against each other in each stat. Say that the Tank is number one in terms of strength, the Female Cleric is second, and the Mage is last. That means that the Tank gets three points in that category, the Cleric gets two, and the Mage only gets one. Whoever is first in a stat gets the max number of points, which total the overall number of party members (except in special cases with games that have characters that become inaccessible like Faize, or an RPG with a ton of different characters).
Without further ado:

There are some hidden endings for certain characters. These are only triggered by some very specific Private Actions – a vexing habit throughout the series. This won’t be the last we hear of it. Continue reading Star Ocean: The Last Hope – Easter Eggs, Hidden Endings, and Trivia
This game disappointed some fans of the earlier Star Ocean games, but I’m not among those disappointed. However, I do not love The Last Hope for the same reasons that I love The Second Story.

JUNE 17th, 2010: Of course, that’s different now. It’s been a while since I updated this VGJ. I did play the game after the last update. I tried to solve the puzzle of the Palace of Creation, Area 7, but I gave up and then messed around in the Colosseum.

AUGUST 14th, 2009: I returned to Roak and unlocked the tournament. There is also a racetrack for bunnies available! This trainer gave a bunny to us. It needed a name. I decided to call it Snuggy. AUGUST 12th, 2009: Lymle tried to teach Cerberus tricks so that Faize wouldn’t get upset at his behavior. She missed Faize so much, she started to cry with a neutral expression. Edge promised to help her teach Cerberus how to behave by teaching him how to shake, but he bit our captain instead. Continue reading Star Ocean: The Last Hope – August 12th, 2009: Beyond
AUGUST 11TH, 2009: During a Private Action, Edge and Myuria relaxed on the Calnus, lamenting fallen comrades – Morphus, human, and Eldarian.
“I’m going to live,” declared Myuria. “I’m going to live, and end this. She swore that no one would go through the pain of losing a loved one like she did. Continue reading Star Ocean: The Last Hope – August 11th, 2009
At the Sanctuary, our enemy prepared to destroy the sacred gems, which looked like obelisks.
A demon of sorts sent by the Missing Procedure stood against us. It asked us to stand down. When we refused, it said, “You will sing your own songs of destruction. Your cries of despair will become the hymn of a beautiful new universe.”
